Tenet rating. Warner Bros. has dated two more 'event films' on their release schedule, which leaves the door open to plenty of possibilities. While a fair share of moviegoers are more concerned with films that are on the immediate horizon, film studios are more often than not equally concerned with the future projects they have in store. Long before the public learns about scripts, movie ideas, or casting, studios are secretly developing multiple projects for all sorts of different outcomes. This can be seen with studios announcing sequel titles and dates well before the upcoming film is released, which has become a common practice nowadays. Not only is the brand and name recognition important in determining the success of a film, but the release date can also be an indicator on quality and the faith studios have in the project. Some of the biggest movies receive release dates well in advance just as a place holder for the studio to try and scare off competing films from being released at the same time. is one of the largest studios in Hollywood and they have recently staked their claim in two more release dates for potentially big films. Exhibitor Relations has revealed that Warner Bros. has secured two new release dates for untitled WB event films. The new release dates are September 27th, 2019 and February 2nd, 2020. These event film dates have previously indicated potential franchise installments such as a new DCEU movie and more, but as of this time what exactly is intended for these specific dates remains to be seen. Exhibitor Relations also noted that a previous event film release date was recently given to Ocean's 8. When it comes to predicting what exactly could be coming in either of these dates, the quickest assumption is another film in the DCEU slate. This seems unlikely at this point unless Warner Bros. is planning on moving to four films a year starting in 2019, a move that not even Marvel Studios has done yet or even plans to do in the near future. Untitled DC film dates have already been placed in June and November 2019 and April 2020, so these dates being used for DC films would leave a very small time frame between installments in the DCEU. Looking at the rest of Warner Bros. upcoming films, another installment in their monster universe could be possible, but again, these dates come incredibly close to Godzilla 2 and Godzilla vs. Kong. Meanwhile, they have already announced a sequel for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will come out in 2018, which could rule out another film in either of these dates as well. As far as speculation goes, finally releasing Creed 2 on the 2019 date would make a lot of sense. It will have been four years since Creed, and the entire cast and crew will have finished up on their immediate commitments to Marvel in time to start production in time. Meanwhile, Warner Bros has loved putting installments of their LEGO Movie universe in the early part of the year, and assuming The LEGO Batman Movie is a hit early next year, a sequel/spinoff would make sense to hit here, only a year after The LEGO Movie 2. Warner Bros. went on a bit of a scheduling spree Wednesday night, announcing new movies and giving release dates to several projects that were already in development. A slew of DC movies got slated for released, along with a couple of unknown films. While untitled movies are never exactly a big deal, considering studios make a ton of movies and they could be anything, this duo of films are surrounded with a lot more mystery. According to Deadline, Warner Bros. has slated untitled "event" films on July 16 and October 1, 2021. Of course, there is no telling what an event film could be, especially when it's labeled as a generic Warner Bros. title, rather than a part of a specific franchise. If it was referred to as a DC event film, it would be easy to assume we were getting another Justice League, or something along those lines. But given DC already has three films slated for 2021, that isn't really an option. Deadline describes the July event film as "a big title, big stars, and four-quad play. " With the gravitas behind the description and the mid-summer release date, it's safe to assume that this is going to be a tentpole for the studio that year. If WB is using one or both of these dates for an event based on existing intellectual property, there are definitely a few options. Harry Potter is one of the biggest IPs the company owns, and there are supposed to be three more Fantastic Beasts movies. The October date could be reserved for the third film in that series, but it's unlikely. Another Fantastic Beasts would probably be announced as such, and both films in that series so far have been released in November. WB also has moneymakers in the LEGO and MonsterVerse franchises. One of these event films could easily be a LEGO spinoff or another King Kong project. Other potential event-level properties include Hanna-Barbera, The Conjuring, Tom & Jerry, Space Jam, and others. 3 comments At this point, there's no telling what either of these event films could be, but it sounds like Warner Bros. is putting together something substantial. What do you think these "event" films could be? give us your best guesses in the comments below!

In some exciting news for Harry Potter fans (yes, I’m fangirling over here), word has come from Variety that David Yates is in talks (and in some articles, he has “agreed”) with Warner Bros. about directing the newest movie set in the magical universe, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Fantastic Beasts takes place 70 years before the original series and follows Newt Scamander as he travels and learns about the mysterious and magical beasts of the world. It is based on a spinoff book written by Rowling that covers one of the text books used at Hogwarts. Yates directed the last 4 movies in the Harry Potter series, and is somewhat of a fan favorite. His experience with the universe should easily allow him to transition the new trilogy with ease. Cinemablend is also reporting the same thing, with much more information on Yates’ past with Harry Potter and other films. News has broken via The Wrap’s Jeff Sneider that Warner Brothers has decided to move Dawn of Justice’s release date up 2 months. The film was originally slated to be opened against Marvel’s Captain America 3 on May 6, 2016, but is instead releasing on March 25, 2016. This news came with a long list of release dates for other titles, but there still are not any names attached to them. The list as as follows: Untitled DC Film – Aug. 5, 2016 Untitled DC Film – June 23, 2017 Untitled DC Film – Nov. 17, 2017 Untitled DC Film – Mar. 23, 2018 Untitled DC Film – July 27, 2018 Untitled WB Event Film – Nov. 16, 2018 Untitled DC Film – Apr. 5, 2019 Untitled DC Film – June 14, 2019 Untitled DC Film – Apr. 3, 2020 Untitled DC Film – June 19, 2020 Untitled WB Event Film – Nov. 20, 2020 For the original post from The Wrap: click here.
